SOUAD MASSI« I’d like to thank Mawazine Team for their welcome, professionalism and their endeavour to introduce world music stars to the less privileged Moroccans. Thanks to the audience who gave me a warm welcome at Mohammed V Theatre Stage  »

Quincy Jones« I was 19 when I first came to Morocco in 1953. I’ve come back several times since, but this is my first visit to Rabat. I had a wonderful time here and the festival team are very good hosts. It felt very emotional to come back and see the beauty of Morocco once again. I feel so close to my brothers in Morocco. And hope I can make it again soon. I’m very positive the song ‘’ Bokra’’ we started recording in Rabat will be beam of hope and solidarity in the whole region. Two thumbs up to Mawazine for their supportive work for this collaboration  »

Quincy Jones

shakira« I think Arabic melodies and beats have influenced my music. There’s a lot in common with Oriental musicians especially repercussions and that of course that influenced my dance moves which is an important element of my performances. Morocco is an enchanting country and it will always be a favourite destination for me  »

Shakira

lionel richieMawazine is simply exceptional. 45000 of my lovely fans stood in the rain to watch my show! Wow! Happy 10th anniversary and I’ll certainly come back very soon

elton« ’ I’ve always been convinced that music is a world apart from politics, religion or prejudice. Indeed, music is a global language understood by everyone. My stay in Rabat has clearly proved this for me. The crowd was amazing. For any artist, it feels so good to be warmly received on stage and hear the audience sing after him. Words can’t really tell how I felt to hear Moroccans sing my songs even if it’s not their language. Moroccans gave us a wonderfully generous and warm welcome and we attended a well- organized festival. For me, music is and will always be a global language that crosses all borders. It is an inspiring force of unity and cross-cultural communication. I will always go anywhere in the world where I can promote such a spirit »

harry« Morocco is a deep childhood memory for me. A legendary space of dreams, encounter, and love. My parents met and got married in Morocco… and beautifully made Moroccan items have been everywhere around me: magic box, clay ashtrays, tambourines, and ceramic and camel- skin drums. What I got to see here was nothing I had expected. I’m in love with Morocco. I love the people, the music, the food and everything Moroccan. I really hope I will one day be able to stay in the country longer enough to immerse myself in its magic…. Special thanks to His Majesty the King Mohamed VI and to all the friendly people for having given me such a warm welcome among them. Thank you all for having me in Mawazine, what an amazing experience! I now know what my parents discovered 60 years ago and I’m gonna share it all with my family for years to come  »
