KYLIE MINOGUE
Australia
Kylie Minogue brings her world class concert to Rabat to open the Mawazine Festival on Friday 15th May – her first performance in North Africa!
Very few “pop” artists have lasted more than a decade, let alone more than two! In July 1987 Kylie released her first single; a remake of the 1962 Little Eva hit "Locomotion". The song hit No.1 in Australia and remained in the top spot for seven weeks, becoming the biggest Australian single of the ‘80’s. Two decades later Kylie achieved the record for the most played female artist on UK radio over the last 20 years!
Since then she has released ten studio albums, two live CDs, eight live concert DVD’s, plus her Greatest Hits and the Ultimate Kylie double album and multiple video packages. This is of course in addition to almost 50 singles released internationally, all of which have been hits!
Her biggest hits include Can’t Get You Out Of My Head, Spinning Around, Celebration, Slow, Better The Devil You Know and countless more.
In addition to her numerous live and television performances Kylie has appeared before Royalty in Britain and Europe, she’s received too many gold and platinum discs to list and been honoured with countless prestigious awards including a Grammy, 3 Brits and 16 ARIAs.
Her tours have broken all sales records and her concerts are universally acclaimed as one of the world’s best live shows.
Of her most recent tour last year the critics said “The Kylie show is .. pop perfection.. pure, astounding, breathtaking spectacle... Kylie effortlessly, instantly melted 20,000 hearts. Barely five minutes in.. the (venue) was already scraping pop heaven.” (METRO.CO.UK ); “Kylie Minogue is the ultimate showgirl … After some 20 years in showbiz this girl certainly knows her audience, .. as the cheers of the crowd testify.. her distinctive voice is stronger than ever in this celebratory extravaganza of a gig, .. there's still no one to compare to Kylie (THE MANCHESTER EVENING NEWS); “Kylie is actually a pop genius.. The show (sets) a new standard for state-of-the-art” (THE INDEPENDENT – UK);
The Queen of Pop will triumphantly kick off the Mawazine Festival at OLM Soussi Stage on Friday 15th May.
